Music

CyberMotion founders Trish and Chris Meyer both have backgrounds as musicians. Trish used to play synthesizer in a band in Dublin, Ireland. Both used to work for Music Maker Publications; Chris writes occasionally for Recording magazine as well as the new Virtual Instruments magazine.

Chris also acts as an expert witness in intellectual property cases involving music sampling and sound analysis. He has prepared detailed analysis and reports for a number of large labels and artists in the Los Angeles area. If you are interested in these services, please email Chris at chris@cybmotion.com

Chris occasionally manipulates samples and grooves in the Los Angeles-based ambient/groove/spoken word group Cosmic Debris, and has released a critically well-received album – Lucid Dreams – with the Debris offshoot Alias Zone

Alias Zone CD

“The sounds wrap around you and creates a powerful image of musical vision... This is as good as it gets. I can't imagine a better ambient album. Every song is amazing... You haven't heard great ambient if you haven't heard Alias Zone.” - TheGlobalMuse.com

Chris used to design musical instruments and MIDI protocols for a variety of companies in the music industry, including Sequential Circuits, Digidesign, and Roland, and still occasionally consults for others in the field as a specialist on audio/video synchronization issues. He also works on intellectual property issues surrounding music and sampling for the law firm Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Matchinger LLP.

Through CyberMotion, Chris has composed music for several product demos, as well as the PBS special Two-Way TV, a Xerox video on their DocuTrek traveling show, software demonstrations for Adobe, and for CyberMotion's demo reel as well as our VideoSyncrasies training tape.
